What is Cast Stone?

Cast Stone is a highly refined architectural pre-cast building stone manufactured to simulate natural stone.  Since the early 1920s, Cast Stone has earned widespread acceptance in the architectural community as a superior replacement for many masonry materials and for all types of natural cut building stone.

Cast Stone is made from fine coarse aggregates such as limestone, marble, calcite, granite, and natural sands.  Cast Stone is available in many colors and can be made to look like limestone, slate, bluestone, and granite.  It can match terra cotta or brick colors and makes an excellent substitute for brick shapes.

As a type of building stone, Cast Stone is specified under the masonry division 04720.  A masonry contractor sets it using standard building stone anchors.
